An Earthquake in 1923. in Japan

1923. earthquake  in the Kanto region around Tokyo, with a shudder of magnitude 7.9.

Much of Tokyo, then left in ruins, thousands of people became refugees and over 100,000 were killed. Below are archival photos Associated Press, the U.S. Geological Survey, and Dana and Vera Reynolds of the Library of Brown University, showing effects of earthquake.
